Scandinavia Shenanigans

“We’ll be fine. What are you afraid of? That I find out your poop stinks? Book the trip.”

I’m all packed up and ready to go. This will be my sixth and seventh country this year. But this trip is…different. I’ll be going to Copenhagen, Denmark before flying over to Stockholm Sweden for a few days. Remember my Second Date Road Trip? Well, imagine a similar scenario, but WITH A WHOLE OVERSEAS TRIP.

I know, I know. But y’all know my motto…YOLO.

This trip came about via a dude I met on Bumble. I don’t want to give away his name or too much information just yet, so we’ll just affectionately call him, Dude*.  This past August, my friend persuaded me to re-join the online dating world and to join Bumble again. Me, always up for a slight ego boost these sites give me, I joined. After swiping through the Mayo Sea of Caucasia, I came across Dude. He was clean-cut and had a cute smile (I’m a total sucker for a cute smile). So I swiped right. It was a match. Because I was wine drunk on a warm summer night at my rooftop pool, I wasted no time sliding into his DMs. We talked for a bit on the app before I gave him my number. I didn’t think anything of Dude until he texted me the following afternoon asking what I had planned that night. Long story and many details short….🙃

After doing the whole getting to know you thing, he invited me on a trip he was planning to Europe.
“Come with me, it would be fun!”, he kept saying.
And while I always wanted to travel with a guy, I had only knew Dude for two weeks at this point. The trip wasn’t until November and it was only August.
“But, what if I don’t like you by then? November is a long time away”, I kept shooting back.
“We’ll be fine. What are you afraid of? That I find out your poop stinks? Book the trip.”
And that’s how I found myself booking a trip with a man who I barely knew for two weeks that I met off Bumble.

If you follow me on Instagram, than you might have seen a picture or two of Dude on my story. We did a mini “Jaycation” for three days and two nights at a hotel a few weeks back. I was even nervous about that, because it was the most time we’ve spent together.

I haven’t been on a vacation with a guy since a now ex-boyfriend back in college. And now, I’m going on a whole ass vacation, to Europe, where the stress of being in a new place can make you or break you, with a guy I’ve known for a hot minute.

But you know what they say, you should travel with someone…that will tell you if you like them or not.

So, I guess we will see.

Dios mio.

Catching flights TO my feelings *eyeroll*,

**I’ll be vlogging this trip, so be sure to be on the look out on my YouTube Channel!**
